"My December" was written by Mike Shinoda, while the band was on tour and recorded after the release of Hybrid Theory, the band's debut album. One of the softer songs Linkin Park, has nothing distorted guitar and is carried mainly by the piano. It was originally recorded for inclusion KROQ's "The Real Slim Santa" CD and was the first time at KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas 2000.
